Newbuilding

Preparing for the purchasing phase SALTECH will compile a technical requirement specification. When the client has approved the design SALTECH will suggest suitable makers and contractors, produce the tender documents on account of the client and evaluate offers from prospective contractors.

Conversion

SALTECH has been responsible for design and project management for conversions on nearly every kind of ship from ultra large crude oil tankers to specialized diving support vessels and passenger ships.A project for a vessel conversion may start with a technical-economical feasibility study and/or a preliminary design to form basis for the investment decision.

Engineering and analysis

SALTECH maintains a suite of computer software for analysis. These are normally used as part of the design process but can of course be used for various kinds of analyses of public interest. SALTECH has the ability to offer analyses in, for instance, ship structure, hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, lashing force calculations, HVAC, machinery and electricity.

Naval

SALTECH has been heavily engaged in naval and “naval-like” projects (coast guard vessels, patrol boats etc.) for the last 10 years.Through these projects an intimate knowledge of the special requirements and particularities of this type of ships has been acquired.

Cargo Handling

In cargo handling SALTECH has been involved in bulk material handling systems such as cement, crude oil, general cargoes (like banana boxes and unit loads from containers), trucks and cars to heavy flasks for nuclear fuel.

Concept

SALTECH may undertake all kind of design studies and preliminary designs. In the past both individual ships and entire logistical solutions have been designed and analyzed.
